We are excited to bring our capabilities and competencies for the European Commission's European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP).
European Commission has decided on the calls of the European Defence Industrial Development Programme (EDIDP). DA-Group is participating in three of the projects, which has been granted the EDIDP-2020 funding. For DA-Group, it is important to be part of the European network developing innovative and future-oriented defence solutions. These international cooperation projects further enhance our already good knowledge and production capabilities in these project areas.
SIGNAL - developing innovative and future-oriented defence solutions
The SIGNAL project aims to develop innovative Photonics-based SIGINT payload to improve resilience in complex and saturated electromagnetic environments to be installed in small flexible platforms, such as tactical drones (Class II RPAS). This is a SME project conducted together with DAS Photonics from Spain (Coordinator) and Tekever from Portugal.
SAURON - developing Space Situational Awareness (SSA), Space Surveillance and Tracking (SST) and early warning capabilities
SAURON project aims to develop advanced sensors for identifying and characterizing space objects based on smart combining of data obtained from ground and space-based SSA/SST sensors. As an EU member state, Finland is participating in this project. The goals of this project enhance DA-Group’s already existing readiness to deliver space surveillance radar systems.
CARMENTA - designing the next generation of Self-Protection System (SPS) for both fixed and rotary wings aerial platforms
This enhances our already good knowledge and production capabilities in this area.
The European Union allocates €158.3 million to 26 projects as results of the 12 calls released in 2020. Union budget was used to co-fund collaborative development of defence technologies and products. EDIDP is genuinely a European programme, with a very broad geographical coverage. The results of the EDIDP 2020 showed success and an increased interest in the programme.
