By connecting startups with industrial expertise and international innovation ecosystems, the BeScaled collaboration strengthens pathways into defence, security and resilience markets across Europe.
DA-Group has been selected as the first company to join the international BeScaled programme as an ecosystem partner, supporting the growth and internationalisation of startups developing dual-use technologies. The collaboration focuses on addressing the evolving needs of security, defence, supply security and societal resilience.
Coordinated by Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK) and funded by the European Union, BeScaled provides a structured pathway for rapidly transferring civilian technologies into fast-growing defence, security and resilience-related markets across Europe and beyond.
“Finnish startups have enormous potential. We want to support them on their way to international markets, while also identifying new technologies and talent,” says Janne Maksimainen, Director of Development at DA‑Group.
The BeScaled programme aims to support 40 companies and scale 25 of them into high-growth businesses by 2028. The programme offers comprehensive support including mentoring, technology and business coaching, market analysis, and facilitated access to EU and NATO innovation ecosystems.
As an ecosystem partner, DA-Group brings deep expertise in defence and space technologies to the programme, as well as concrete pathways for piloting, industrial collaboration and potential investment in future innovations.
“DA‑Group’s involvement adds exactly the kind of hands-on technological and industrial insight that startups need on their journey towards defence and security markets,” says Kirsi Vesterinen, Project Specialist at HAMK.
BeScaled is an EU-funded international scaling programme coordinated by Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), designed to accelerate the commercialisation and international growth of dual-use technologies. The programme brings together startups, industrial partners, investors and public-sector stakeholders across Europe.
