The Cancer Foundation is Finland’s most significant private funder of cancer research. With its support, more than a hundred researchers and research groups work annually to advance the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. In addition to research, the funding enables counselling and support services, as well as financial assistance for patients and their families.

The importance of developing cancer treatment has also recently been highlighted in public discussion. Professor of the Pink Ribbon campaign and cancer researcher Juha Klefström has expressed concern that access to the latest treatments is not equally available to all patients due to financial and cost pressures, emphasizing the need for long-term research and development. Klefström notes that the work supported by the Cancer Foundation Finland can help drive this progress forward and extends his warm thanks to all supporters of this work.
