The acquisition will strengthen the consolidated offering to participate in significant naval programs of Finnish and international navy organizations, shipyards and other companies in the naval sector. Surma will continue to operate as the subsidiary with its own brand. The management and staff will also continue in their present roles.

DA-Group has signed a contract with EISCAT for the delivery of the First Stage Receiver Unit for EISCAT 3D radar (E3D).
EISCAT Scientific Association is a non-profit scientific organization and it operates four radar antenna sites to enable research on the ionosphere and the upper atmosphere. Located above the Arctic Circle, the radars have been used for different types of studies and different phenomenas, e.g. Space Weather, Space Debris and the Aurora.
Finnish researchers are among the recipients of the 2018 Gruber Cosmology Prize for their work on the European Space Agency’s (ESA) Planck satellite that has shed more light on the Universe. The space-based Planck observatory collected data from the cosmic microwave background (relic radiation left over from the Big Bang) with unprecedented accuracy between 2009 and 2013, revealing more precise information about the Universe, such as origin, age, composition and geometry.

The PAZ satellite was successfully launched on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 6:17 atop the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. During 2009 to 2012, DA-Group designed and built subsystems for the earth-observation PAZ satellite consisting of the radar transmit/receive signal distribution subsystem.
HeViMet designs and manufactures high quality injection molds for plastics manufacturing customers. The company also produces precision-machined mechanical parts by specialty milling, electrical discharge machining and wire EDM process. HeViMet has moved its production to DA-Group’s facilities in Forssa and continues to operate under its established brand.
