The design of a new-built ship begins with the identification of its ferromagnetic parts. The magnetization of these objects is modeled or measured based on which the degaussing coil cabling is designed.
The coils installed on board M, A and L-coils are used to neutralize magnetization in all three dimensions.
The system integrates to ship navigation system for ship position, heading and attitude data. Combined with world magnetic map, the system can operate accurately even without the magnetometer input. The system can be interfaced to IPMS and deliver system status data with requested level of detail.
