We are looking for a motivated embedded systems software development specialist to join our innovative team. If you are a passionate software developer and you enjoy working with embedded systems, this could be the job for you. You will work with product development on smart measurement and control systems together with engineers and experts in various areas. The final job description and areas of responsibility will be established based on the selected person’s strengths.

An educational background in IT and a passion for software, robotics or electronics are a plus in the job, but what counts most is that you have the right attitude and are willing to embrace the tasks in your area of responsibility. An interest or experience in the defence industry or another security-critical sector will also play in your favour. This is a unique opportunity to work in demanding projects and shape the technology of the future.

DA-Group’s Tampere office is located in Hervanta. The technical team meets up at the office 2–3 times a week on average, depending on the phase of the project at any given time, but you can also work partly remotely.

YOUR TASKS WILL INCLUDE, AMONG OTHER THINGS:

• Developing and implementing software for embedded devices and systems throughout their life cycle (from the requirements specification to production and commercial use)
• Participating in specifications and reviews related to software
• Co-operating with hardware engineers and the other team members and ensuring the seamless functioning of the system
• Documenting the software you have developed and, if required, also participating in writing user manuals
• Supporting quality assurance for your software

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

• A relevant university degree, studies in the field or a passion for software development
• Expertise in embedded systems software development and embedded programming languages (e.g. C and C++)
• Experience in agile software development processes (e.g. Agile and Scrum)
• Sufficient know-how in interpreting plugging charts and component data sheets; experience in troubleshooting is considered an advantage
• Initiative and dependability
• Strong documentation and communication skills in both Finnish and English

EXPERIENCE IN E.G. THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED A PLUS:

• Test methods and test automation for embedded systems
• Serial communication and data network protocols
• Real-time systems
• Microprocessors (AVR/ARM)
• Signal processing
• MATLAB and Simulink
• Basic measuring instruments
