As a Software Architect, you will make intuitive high-level decisions concerning embedded systems software. You will see the big picture and guide the development team by creating architectural approaches to software development and implementation. Your responsibility will be to design, develop and maintain embedded systems software architecture. You have diverse experience in implementing embedded systems and the ability to develop a coherent vision of the software features and functions.

An educational background in IT and a passion for software, robotics or electronics are a plus in the job, but what counts most is that you have the right attitude and are willing to embrace the tasks in your area of responsibility. An interest or experience in the defence industry or another security-critical sector will also play in your favour. This is a unique opportunity to work in demanding projects and shape the technology of the future.

DA-Group’s Tampere office is located in Hervanta. The technical team meets up at the office 2–3 times a week on average, depending on the phase of the project at any given time, but you can also work partly remotely.

YOUR TASKS WILL INCLUDE, AMONG OTHER THINGS:

• Responsibility for the embedded systems software process, software specifications and engineering solutions
• Working together with other professionals to specify the functional and non-functional requirements for new software or applications
• Developing high-level software specifications and being responsible for the selection of suitable technologies and software development tools
• Communicating and documenting the designs and instructions for the development team
• Staying on top of the latest software development trends, technologies, standards and best practices
• Providing the development team with technical guidance and coaching if required

If the architect so wishes, they can also take responsibility for leading the team, for example, by taking care of equal workload distribution and work arrangements.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

• A relevant educational background in software technology, information technology or a similar field
• Experience and/or an interest in engineering and developing embedded systems software architecture
• In-depth expertise in the programming languages (e.g. C and C++) used in the implementation of embedded systems
• A solid understanding of the implementation of hardware-related real-time systems and software quality assurance methods
• Knowledge of UML or other similar modelling methods
• Problem-solving skills and analytical thinking, high-level organisational and leadership skills
• Good documentation and communication skills in Finnish and English

EXPERIENCE IN E.G. THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED A PLUS:

• Functional security processes and methods
• Serial communication and data network protocols
• Microprocessors (AVR/ARM)
• Signal processing
• MATLAB and Simulink
